Overview:
Function and application: It is a Modbus Plus dual-port network interface module for ControlLogix, serving as an input/output module and acting as a gateway between the Modbus Plus network and the ControlLogix backplane. Realize the easy connection between Controllogix-compatible processors and other Modbus Plus protocol-compatible devices.
Application fields: Widely used in industrial automation fields such as numerical control machinery, metallurgy, petroleum and natural gas, etc.
Specification parameters:
Communication parameters (for configuration ports only) : Baud rate 57,600 (fixed), no parity (fixed), stop bit 1 (fixed).
Memory usage: Supports storing and transferring up to 4,000 registers on the backplane. Module data transfer ranges from 0 to 4,000 words, and supports 100-word read and write (maximum allowed). Configurable parameters include node address (1 to 64), global output size (0 to 32 words), global size (0 to 32 words), master command count (0 to 200 commands), etc.
Dimensions: 163×38×58mm.
Electrical characteristics: 800mA at 5.1Vdc, 3mA at 24Vdc.
Port type: It has RJ45 and RS-232 ports.
Other features:
Single-slot - 1756 backplane compatibility: It can be installed on local or remote racks, identified as an input/output module, and can access processor memory. Data transmission between the module and the processor is achieved through ladder logic, and configuration data is obtained through user-defined ladder diagrams.
Support for Modbus Plus routing: Supports all five levels of Modbus Plus routing. The 4000-word register space in the module is used for asynchronous data exchange between the processor and the Modbus Plus network. The MBP module actively exchanges global input (with a maximum of 32 words per node) and global output (with a maximum of 32 words) data on the Modbus Plus network, providing a high-speed mechanism for controlling data transmission.
