Function and effectClosing control: mainly used to control the closing operation
Function and effect
Closing control: mainly used to control the closing operation of circuit breakers and other equipment. When the closing signal is received, the electromagnetic mechanism of the component will generate a magnetic field, drive the relevant mechanical components through electromagnetic force, close the contacts of the circuit breaker, and thus connect the circuit.
Energy storage and release: usually includes energy storage elements such as springs or capacitors. Before the closing operation, the energy is stored first, and when the closing is required, the energy is quickly released to provide sufficient power to complete the closing action and ensure the fast and reliable closing process.
Working principle
Generally speaking, when the electromagnetic closing component is working, the current passes through the electromagnetic coil to generate a magnetic field. The magnetic field force attracts or pushes the movable parts such as the iron core, overcomes the spring force or other resistance, and moves the contacts of the circuit breaker to the closed position. At the same time, devices such as auxiliary switches will feedback the closing status signal so that the control system can understand whether the closing operation is successful. After the closing is completed, the electromagnetic coil may maintain a certain current to maintain the closed state of the contacts until the opening signal is received.
Application scenarios
Electromagnetic closing components are widely used in various power systems, including power plants, substations, industrial power distribution systems, and some places with high requirements for power reliability, such as hospitals and data centers. For example, in power plants, they are used to control the closing of the generator output circuit breaker to connect the power generated by the generator to the power grid; in industrial power distribution systems, they are used to control the closing of the circuit breakers of each distribution line to power production equipment.
