Audio Precision APX515B Series Audio Analyzer

I. Product Positioning and Channel Configuration

The APx515B belongs to the B-series dual-channel integrated audio analyzer, primarily designed for mass production line audio testing and entry-level R&D verification. It comes standard with 2 channels of analog signal generation and 2 channels of analog signal acquisition, integrates standard digital audio input/output interfaces, and is equipped with the APx500 measurement software platform. It includes an ISO17025 accredited calibration certificate and a three-year manufacturer's warranty.

II. Analog Signal Generator Performance

Number of Output Channels: 2, supports balanced/unbalanced output configurations

Sine Wave Frequency Range: 2Hz to 80.1kHz, frequency accuracy 3ppm, frequency setting resolution approximately 45μHz

Output Amplitude Range: Unbalanced 0–8.00Vrms; Balanced mode maximum 16Vrms

Amplitude Accuracy (1kHz): ±0.05dB; 10Hz–20kHz Amplitude Flatness ±0.010dB; 20kHz–50kHz Flatness ±0.030dB; 50kHz–80kHz Flatness ±0.10dB

Generator Self-Residual THD+N (20kHz Bandwidth): ≤-102dB+1.4μV, typical value better than -106dB under 1kHz/2V operating conditions

Phase Adjustment Range: -179.999° to + 180.000°, adjustable phase between channels

Supported waveform types: sine wave, square wave, white noise, pink noise, sweep chirp, custom waveform; built-in SMPTE, MOD, DFD standard IMD modulation test signals

Non-harmonic spurious level: typically better than -110dB at Fs≤75kHz, approximately -55dB at 80kHz bandwidth

III. Analog Input Acquisition Performance

Overall analog measurement bandwidth: greater than 90kHz

Maximum withstand input voltage: 125Vpk, can directly test power amplifier output terminals

Residual input noise floor (20kHz measurement bandwidth): 1.4μV

Harmonic resolution capability: can analyze the amplitude and phase of the 2nd to 10th harmonics separately

FFT analysis specifications: maximum 1024K (1.2M) sampling points, high-resolution spectrum analysis

Compatible measurement items: THD+N, SNR, SINAD, intermodulation distortion IMD, frequency response, gain, crosstalk, channel phase difference, DC voltage, impedance, delay, transfer function, sweep level, step sweep, and other complete audio specifications.

IV. Digital Audio I/O Specifications

Standard digital interfaces: AES/EBU, SPDIF coaxial, TOSLINK fiber optic

Digital output sampling rate range: 27kS/s–200kS/s; fiber optic output upper limit 108kS/s

Encoded signal generation: Can load Dolby and DTS encoded files to output test bitstreams

Optional expansion ASIO digital audio interface; supports up to 216k sampling rate digital transceiver

Software supports synchronous parallel acquisition and measurement of analog and digital signals; one set of project files is compatible with all APx series instruments for interoperability.

V. Automation and Software Control

Test speed: Complete measurement of all key audio parameters generally takes less than 3 seconds, suitable for high-speed production line cycles.

Operation mode: Local independent touch interface operation; or remote programmable control via host computer.

Programming driver: Complete LabVIEW driver, .NET (C#/VB), MATLAB. API; No-code visual sequence editing, drag-and-drop test process setup

Peripheral linkage: Supports foot switch, barcode scanner, pass/fail indicator light, external signal switching matrix; can connect to DCX-127 electroacoustic test accessory

Batch judgment: Built-in Pass/Fail threshold comparison, data log storage, WAV waveform recording, and long-term monitoring function of measurement recorder

VI. Hardware connection and computer configuration requirements

Communication interface: Dual USB 2.0/3.0 ports; one for host communication, one for connecting external switch accessories

Minimum computer configuration: Windows 10 64-bit system; i5 or equivalent 2.5GHz or higher processor; 8GB RAM (16GB recommended); reserved USB-A interface and network (optional online authorization)

Overall structure: Metal shielded chassis, resistant to workshop electromagnetic interference; standard rack mounting size, suitable for both desktop and rack use

VII. Typical application scenarios

Consumer audio production line: Bluetooth headsets, speakers, amplifiers, USB Final batch testing of sound cards and microphones

Performance verification of car audio systems, power amplifiers, and conference sound reinforcement equipment

Basic R&D of electroacoustic components: frequency response and distortion assessment of loudspeakers, receivers, and diaphragm units

Testing of digital audio decoding chips, DSP audio algorithms, and audio ADC/DAC chips

STI voice transmission index measurement for voice communication equipment (optional SW-STI software license)

VIII. Key Usage Precautions

High and low voltage tests must confirm the input 125Vpk limit. For high-power amplifiers, it is recommended to use an attenuation probe to protect the input front end.

Project files for different APx models are interchangeable, but high-bandwidth model-specific functions cannot run on the APx515B.

Annual recommendation: submit for recalibration by a metrology institution to maintain ISO17025 compliance testing qualifications.

Multi-channel expansion requires an external signal switching matrix; the unit natively only supports dual-channel analog transmission and reception.

Fiber optic digital cables must use standard TOSLINK audio fiber optic cables; ordinary data fiber optic cables are prone to clock jitter errors.
