The ICL232 is a dual RS-232 transmitter/receiver interface circuit manufactured by Renesas Electronics. It complies with all ELA RS-232C and V.28 specifications. The chip requires only a +5V power supply and includes two internal charge pump voltage converters to generate +10V and -10V supplies from the 5V supply. Its drivers feature true TTL/CMOS input compatibility, slew-rate-limited outputs, and 300Ω source impedance. The receivers can handle voltages up to +30V, have an input impedance of 3kΩ to 7kΩ, and include hysteresis for improved noise immunity.
