**Basic Affiliation:** The IS220YSILS1B is a signal input interface board from GE specifically designed for the Speedtronic Mark VIe integrated protection and control system for gas turbines/steam turbines. It belongs to the Mark VIe distributed I/O series hardware and is suitable for acquiring safety protection circuit data from gas turbine units in large thermal power plants and combined cycle power plants.
Core Functions:
**Field Switch Signal Isolation and Acquisition:** The module features multiple isolated digital input channels for acquiring local protection contact signals from the unit, including hardwired protection switches for overspeed protection, vibration switches, oil temperature and pressure, flame detection, emergency shutdown, and valve limit switches. It converts passive/active contact signals from the field into standard digital signals recognizable by the controller.
**Circuit Electrical Isolation Protection:** The board incorporates opto-isolation circuitry to achieve electrical isolation between the field high-voltage circuits and the controller's internal low-voltage bus. This avoids malfunctions caused by field grounding interference, surges, and voltage crosstalk, ensuring the reliability of protection signal acquisition.
**Circuit Electrical Isolation Protection:** The board incorporates opto-isolation circuitry to achieve electrical isolation between the field high-voltage circuits and the controller's internal low-voltage bus, preventing malfunctions caused by field grounding interference, surges, and voltage crosstalk, and ensuring the reliability of protection signal acquisition. It features real-time diagnostic functions for channel disconnection, short circuit, overvoltage, and board communication faults. Fault information is uploaded to the HMI, facilitating rapid location of local protection circuit wiring or board abnormalities by maintenance personnel.
Hardware and System Compatibility
System Compatibility
It is only compatible with the GE Speedtronic Mark VIe control platform. It can be used with Mark VIe controllers, various IS200/IS220 series I/O boards, redundant power supplies, and IONet switches to form a complete unit control and protection system. It is not compatible with previous generation Mark V and Mark VI systems.
Redundant Deployment Support
Supports dual redundancy configuration. The same set of critical protection contacts can be connected to two IS220YSILS1B boards in two separate paths. This, combined with system redundancy logic, achieves fault tolerance in the protection circuit, meeting the safety specifications of power plant units.
Installation Architecture
Standard T-rack rail mounting, integrated into the control cabinet I/O cabinet. Terminal blocks are provided at the front of the board, and the rear end directly connects to the IONet backplane bus, supporting hot-swappable maintenance (subject to unit safety shutdown operation procedures).
