I. Basic Architecture and Channel Configuration
This model is an 8-channel analog output Personality Card module for the Ovation DCS system. It must be used in conjunction with the matching electronic baseboard 1C31129G02 to form a complete system. The entire system is inserted into the Ovation standard I/O rack slot to operate.
It is responsible for converting digital control signals from the controller into industrial standard analog signals to drive control valves, positioners, frequency converters, field transmitters, and other devices.

II. Analog Output Electrical Performance
Number of Output Channels: 8 fully independent channels
Standard Output Signal Format
Current Mode: 4–20mA, adjustable range 1–23mA; Voltage Mode: 0–10VDC, software allows for free switching of signal type per channel
Conversion Resolution: 16-bit high-precision DAC digital-to-analog conversion
Overall Accuracy: Typical full-scale accuracy ±0.02% FS, stable error under normal operating conditions ≤±0.1% FS
Load Driving Capability
4–20mA Current Output: Maximum load resistance of 750Ω per channel; 0–10V Voltage Output: Minimum allowable load impedance 1kΩ
Circuit Power Supply: Internal isolated power supply within the module, no external circuit power supply required on the field side
Response Speed: Full-scale step settling time of each channel is less than... 200ms
III. Isolation and Fault Diagnosis Capabilities
Isolation Level: Electrical isolation between channels and the backplane system bus; mutual isolation between channels, suppressing crosstalk and ground loop interference.
Built-in Full-Channel Real-Time Diagnostic Function: Output circuit open-circuit detection, short-circuit overload protection, output value over-limit alarm, module power supply abnormality, DAC self-test fault; all fault codes are uploaded to the Ovation controller and operation screen alarm window in real time.
Fault-Safe Modes: Configurable fault hold, fault zeroing, and fault preset fixed output value three failure strategies.
Port Protection: Each output integrates TVS surge, reverse voltage, and overcurrent hardware protection, withstanding transient high-voltage impacts in the field.
IV. Power Supply and Power Consumption
Backplane Power Supply: 24VDC system power supplied by the Ovation rack backplane.
Typical Power Consumption: 3W; maximum power consumption under full load (8 channels, full output) does not exceed 3.5W.
Reverse Connection Protection: Power input terminal has a polarity reverse protection circuit; incorrect connection to positive or negative terminals will not directly burn out the module.
V. Environmental Tolerance Specifications
Operating Ambient Temperature: 0℃ to + 55℃; Wide temperature compatibility range: -20℃ to +60℃, stable operation
Storage and transportation temperature: -40℃ to +85℃
Relative humidity: 5%–95%, non-condensing environment; condensation and direct water vapor injection are prohibited.
EMC: Meets industrial IEC standards, resistant to radio frequency interference, motor start/stop pulses, and inverter harmonic interference; built-in filter circuit suitable for strong electromagnetic environments in power plants, chemical plants, and metallurgical plants.
Vibration resistance: Meets DCS rack industrial vibration standards; rack-fixed operation with no drift over long periods.
VI. Physical Structure and Installation
Overall dimensions: 159mm (L) × 108mm (W) × 41mm (D)
Net weight: approx. 0.3kg, metal shielded housing structure.
Installation method: Standard Ovation rack slot-type plug-in installation, supports DIN rail rack base.
Terminal blocks: Spring-locking terminal blocks, compatible with multi-strand/single-strand shielded cables; shielded twisted-pair cable single-channel independent wiring is recommended.
Compatibility: Compatible replacement within the same series. 1C31132G01, only compatible with the corresponding version of the electronic baseboard; supports redundant system hardware pairing configuration.
VII. System Compatibility and Application Scenarios
Compatible Systems: Full range of Ovation distributed control systems, main control I/O for thermal power, gas turbines, chemical processes, water treatment, and paper mills.
Typical Control Loads: Pneumatic regulating valves, electric actuators, frequency converter speed setpoints, heating power regulators, remote transmitter setpoint inputs.
Communication Interaction: Real-time data interaction with Ovation controllers and redundant processors via high-speed backplane bus, supporting seamless online plug-and-play replacement (hot-swappable compatible design).
Certifications: UL, CE industrial safety certifications, original manufacturer in the USA, standard new parts with a 12-month warranty.
VIII. Key Usage Precautions
The custom card and electronic baseboard must be model-matched; different G suffix version combinations cannot be used, otherwise the channel cannot be initialized.
4–20mA Long-haul cables must be fully shielded, with the shield grounded at one end on the rack side and floating at the field end to prevent drift caused by ground potential differences. For high-power actuator circuits, it is recommended to add an external isolation distributor to further enhance lightning and surge protection. Zero-point and full-scale calibrations should be performed annually during system overhauls to maintain a high accuracy of ±0.02% FS. It is strictly forbidden to plug or unplug terminal connections while the module is energized, as this may trigger short-circuit protection or even damage the DAC channel.
