The provided output voltage is proportional to the distance between the probe tip and the observed conductive surface. It can measure both static (position) and dynamic (vibration) values and is mainly applied in the vibration and position measurement of fluid film bearing machines, as well as key phase reference and speed measurement.

The standard 3300 XL 8 mm 5 meter system fully complies with the American Petroleum Institute (API) 670 standard in terms of mechanical configuration, linear range, accuracy and temperature stability.

All 3300 XL 8 mm proximity sensor systems support full interchangeability of probes, extension cables and Proximitor sensors without the need for matching or reference calibration of individual components.
