EMERSON PR6424/011-140 is an eddy current sensor, usually used with CON021 signal converter, mainly used to measure the relevant parameters of rotating machinery in the industrial field. The following is a detailed introduction:
Working principle: Based on the eddy current effect, the sensor and the preamplifier form an oscillator. When the sensor probe is close to the metal object to be measured, the alternating magnetic field generated by the probe coil will generate eddy currents on the surface of the object to be measured. The magnetic field generated by the eddy current will react on the probe coil, causing the oscillator amplitude to decay. The attenuation amplitude is proportional to the distance between the sensor and the object to be measured, thereby realizing the measurement of physical quantities such as displacement.
Measurement parameters: It can be used to measure physical quantities such as axial and radial shaft displacement, shaft eccentricity, shaft vibration, bearing wear, oil film thickness, etc., and is widely used in steam turbine monitoring and protection systems MMS 3000 and MMS 6000.
Performance characteristics: It has the advantages of non-contact measurement, small size and high reliability2. It has high measurement accuracy and can provide accurate data for equipment operation status monitoring. It has a fast response speed and can reflect the changes of the measured physical quantity in real time.
Appearance design: The probe is usually composed of a coil head, a shell, a high-frequency cable and a high-frequency connector. The shell is generally made of 304 stainless steel, engraved with standard threads and equipped with locking nuts, which can be easily installed. At the same time, there are a variety of shell styles, threads and size specifications to choose from to adapt to different installation occasions.
CON021 signal converter function: CON021 is a matching eddy current signal converter. Its function is to convert the signal of the eddy current sensor into a signal that can be read by other devices. It usually has a 4-20mA standard output, which is convenient for integration with the control system. It supports Modbus RTU communication, is compatible with various control systems, has high sensitivity, can detect small vibrations, and is used for early fault detection. The operating temperature range is - 30℃ to + 100℃, the protection level is IP20, and it is installed with 4 M5x20 screws and connected to the sensor through a self-locking Lemo plug.
