Functional Features
Channel monitoring: Provides 16 digital channels for monitoring the open or closed state of field digital inputs or contacts.
State change filtering: The module is equipped with a filter that can reject state changes less than 4 milliseconds, effectively preventing false triggering and noise interference.
Event marking and jitter control: Event marking and jitter control functions can be performed on each input channel. By writing the channel event marking mask through the controller, event marking can be enabled for specific input channels. Each channel has a jitter control flag to indicate that the input channel has too many state changes or the change rate is too fast within a period of time.
High-speed state monitoring: Check the state of each channel every 125 microseconds to capture changes in input signals in a timely manner.
How it works
When the state of an input channel changes, the 5X00357G04 records the change in the event buffer of the sequence of events (SOE) module and increases the value of the jitter counter of the input channel. When the jitter counter reaches 4, any additional state changes of the input channel will no longer be recorded until the jitter counter is reset to zero. The controller provides two options for resetting the input channel jitter counter by writing control bits: one is to reset after the Ovation controller reads the event buffer of the SOE module; the other is to check the jitter counter every 100 milliseconds, and decrement if its value is greater than zero. When the counter value reaches zero, future input channel state changes can enter the event buffer again.
