Undervoltage protection: If the power supply voltage is lower than the set undervoltage value, the starter will stop the motor from running to avoid problems such as overload and overheating when the motor runs at low voltage.

Phase loss protection: Detect whether the three-phase power supply is phase-lost. If a phase loss is found, the motor power supply is cut off in time to prevent the motor from burning due to phase loss.

Working principle

If it is a soft starter type, its working principle is generally to adjust the input voltage and current of the motor by controlling the internal power electronic devices, such as thyristors. During the startup process, according to the set startup parameters, the conduction angle of the thyristor is gradually increased to make the input voltage and current of the motor rise steadily, thereby achieving soft starting. When the motor reaches the rated speed, the starter may bypass the thyristor and allow the motor to be directly connected to the power supply to run, so as to improve efficiency and reduce energy consumption.
