Overview:

This module is an intelligent I/O module designed by ABB for the Advant Controller 400 series programmable logic controllers (PLCs).

Functional features:

Digital input and output: It features 16 digital input channels and 16 digital output channels, enabling digital signal exchange with external devices or sensors. The input channel can receive digital signals from sensors, such as switch status and sensor trigger signals. The output channel can control the on/off status of external devices, such as motors, lights, valves, etc.

Multiple input types: Supports multiple input types, including voltage, current and digital signals, and is compatible and connected with different types of sensors and signal sources.

Communication capability: By communicating with the PLC through a high-speed serial communication link, the status of the input signal can be transmitted in real time to the PLC, and control instructions issued by the PLC can be received to drive the output channel.

Isolation protection: To ensure stability and reliability in industrial environments, the module provides isolation between input, output and power supply, which helps prevent electrical interference and fault propagation.

Electrical characteristics:

Load capacity: The digital output can switch loads up to 2A, enabling it to drive some high-power devices or actuators.

Input signal range: The input can handle signals from 0 to 30Vdc, allowing it to receive signals from different sensors and process them appropriately.

Power regulation: It provides DC output. The 50/60Hz AC power supply can be adjusted between 5V and 6V. It also provides ±6V and an additional -5.2V voltage on a separate line. The switch on the backplane is used to select the range of the mains power supply.
